Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 October 2026
These terms apply to the website muslimsplanet.com and the Muslims Planet apps for Android and iOS (together, “Muslims Planet”, run by “we” or “us”). By using Muslims Planet you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
In short: Muslims Planet is free, has no ads, and most of it works without an account. Use it with good intentions, be respectful in community features, and check important religious matters — such as prayer times or zakat — with a qualified local source.
1. Using Muslims Planet
Muslims Planet is offered free of charge for personal, non-commercial use. You may read, listen, share individual items (for example an ayah, hadith or dua with the share button) and use the tools for yourself and your family. Please don’t:
- copy, resell or republish the app, its design or large parts of its content as your own service;
- scrape it, overload it, or try to get around its security, limits or access controls (including other people’s accounts or private data);
- use it for anything unlawful, harmful, or to harass or deceive others.
2. Your account
An account is optional; it keeps your bookmarks, Salah log, tasbih counts and settings in sync across your devices. You can sign up with an email address or sign in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for what happens under your account; tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it.
Muslims Planet is meant for a general audience. If you are under 13, please use it with a parent or guardian’s permission. You can delete your account at any time — see Deleting your account in our Privacy Policy.
3. Community features
Tasbih Chains and Quran Khatams let you create or join shared goals with others. What you write there — a title, an intention, your display name — can be seen by other participants, and by anyone with the link for public ones. Please keep it sincere and respectful. Don’t post anything that is:
- offensive, hateful, sectarian or mocking of any faith or person;
- misleading, spam, advertising or links to unrelated sites;
- someone else’s personal information, or anything you don’t have the right to share.
You keep ownership of what you write, and you allow us to show it within Muslims Planet so the feature works. We may edit, hide or remove community content, close a chain or khatam, or limit an account that breaks these rules, at our discretion.
4. Religious content
We take great care with every text. The Qur’an text and its translations, hadith, duas, the 99 Names and the other content come from established, published sources, and the reference (surah and ayah, book and number) is shown with each item. Even so, mistakes can happen — if you spot one, please tell us and we will correct it.
Translations convey the meaning of the Qur’an; they are not the Qur’an itself. Articles and explanations in Muslims Planet are for learning and reminder. They are not a fatwa or a ruling for your situation — for personal religious questions, please ask a qualified scholar.
5. Prayer times, Qibla, calendar and zakat
Prayer times are calculated from your location using the method and settings you choose; the Qibla direction comes from your location and your device’s compass; the Hijri calendar is calculated and may differ by a day from local moon sighting; the zakat calculator gives an estimate from the figures you enter. All of these depend on your device, your settings and the information you provide, so they can be inaccurate.
Please treat them as a helpful guide and follow your local masjid’s timetable, your local moon-sighting announcement and a qualified scholar where they differ. We are not responsible for a missed or mistimed prayer, fast or payment that relied on them.
6. Audio, live streams and other services
Recitations, Quran radio and live streams (for example from Makkah and Madinah) are played directly from their providers’ servers, and sign-in may use Google or Apple. These services belong to their owners and have their own terms. We don’t control them, can’t promise they are always available, and may add, change or remove them at any time. Recordings remain the property of their reciters and publishers.
7. Our content and name
The Muslims Planet name, logo, design, code and our own writing belong to us. The Qur’an and the hadith are a trust for all Muslims; the particular translations, recordings and data sets we use belong to their respective owners and are used under their terms. Sharing single items with their reference and a link back is welcome; reproducing the app or large parts of it is not, without our written permission.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Muslims Planet running smoothly, but we can’t promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may improve, change or retire features, and we may suspend access to protect the service or its users.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Muslims Planet is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Muslims Planet or your inability to use it. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under laws that can’t be excluded.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using Muslims Planet and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Sections 4, 5, 7 and 9 continue to apply after that.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we’ll also let you know in the app or on the website. Continuing to use Muslims Planet after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Privacy
How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms, or to report content or a mistake: [email protected].
